Japan Holiday Packages

For centuries upon centuries, Japan was closed off to the Western world. But those days are long gone and now the “Land of the Rising Sun” is open to everybody, and everybody should go—including you!

Just think of all the cool things you can do, like visit a bunch of cool temples, take a hot springs bath high in the mountains with red-faced monkeys, ride a train that’s as fast as a speeding bullet, and eat the best sushi this side of the galaxy. We don’t think we need to entice you anymore, but we will. All you need to do is book one of Wotif’s fine Japan holiday packages and you’ll be ready.

Runnin’ Wild in the Far East

Good thing you took all that time off work, because there aretoo many fun things to do here in just a few days. Especially if you’re going to take your Tokyo car rental up and down the main island of Honshu. From Hiroshima in the south to Aomori in the north, it’ll be hard for you to be bored. Here’s a list of some of the fun things we think you should take part in:

  • Tokyo Imperial Palace – Since you’ll probably be beginning your Japan holiday in the capital city, make your way over to the Imperial Palace and spend few hours walking the grounds. Reserve a spot on a private tour and you’ll get a VIP look at most of what goes on at the palace on a daily basis. If the emperor happens to be home, he may appear before the crowd and give a short thank-you speech to the visitors.
  • Kyoto – Ah, the “Land of Imperial Palaces and Pagodas”. We’re not sure if that’s the nickname of this city, but it should be. There seems to be a pagoda or palace of some sort on every block and all are worth a visit. Start off with the Kiyomizu-dera Buddhist Temple, where you’ll be treated to unobstructed views of the surrounding city and countryside. Next, head on over to the Fushimi Inari-taisha shrine at the base of Inari Mountain. Walk through the famed orange Torii paths to the shrine on the upper slopes of the mountain and you’ll be amazed the entire time.
  • Jigokudani Monkey Park – If you’ve ever wanted to watch red-faced Japanese macaques turn natural hot springs into their own personal hot tubs, this is the place to do it. You can even feed the little rascals and hopefully become friends with them. We guarantee this will be one of the funniest sights you ever see.

Hungry Yet?

Let’s be honest, you really took a Tokyo holiday to gorge on some of the greatest food in the universe. Noodle dishes, seafood (cooked and uncooked), tempura and a whole lot more will put a big smile on your face. When you find yourself wandering around Tokyo looking for a place to grind, here’s a few places we think you should get a table at:

  • Sukiyabashi Jiro – We’ll start with the place that has been named the best restaurant in the world—twice—and has been awarded three stars by the Michelin Guide. Sushi master Jiro Ono has perfected the art of making raw fish and loves sharing it with customers like you. Be warned, you need to set up reservations at least a couple weeks in advance. It’s that good.
  • Fuunji – Everybody likes a good bowl of ramen, and it’ll be hard to find a better bowl than the ones this place serves up. Don’t fool around—get the house tonkatsu ramen and think about all the poor folks back home who are eating meat pies.

There it is, folks. We’ve told you what to do and where to eat. Anything else? We didn’t think so. All there is left to do is book one of Wotif’s fantastic Tokyo holiday packages and check out of your regular routine.
